We went to the Portland Pirates last night and had a great time - the tickets (and beers) are inexpensive and hey, live sports are always fun.

Sure, I don't keep up on the team as well as I should, but I've gone twice so far this year, so I'm doing my part, right?

Now I read in the Albany Times Union that the Pirates are negotiating to move to the capital of New York: "Portland CEO won't discuss Albany move"?!

Huh, that would be a bummer.

So yesterday was the second Monday in February, that means Beanpot Championship!

Naturally Boston University (29 Beanpot wins) was playing Boston College (14 wins).

Unnaturally, BC won.

Boston University Mens Hockey plays rival Boston College (which, I might remind you, is technically not in Boston and technically not a college) tonight at some place called ... Fernway?

Yeah, that's it - Fernway Park.

Tonight is the Frozen Fenway game at 7:30 in Fenway Damn Park!

Also playing are the Northeastern and UNH women's teams.

The ice, of course, is still up from New Year's Day Winter Classic with the Bruins and Flyers.

So watch BU play BC tonight, if you get NESN.
