I could read articles like this one from BusinessWeek all day: "Mac vs. PC: What You Don't Get for $699".

Money quotes?

"A PC is no bargain when it doesn't do what you want," Apple spokesman Bill Evans says.

... and the kicker:

"Rather than running ads that seem clever at first but really aren't, the Windows guys ought to take the hint and just build better computers."

Dude I get annoyed when I read these articles. Ok first of all go ahead Macman and brag about how there are no viruses or worms or any other malware out there for the Mighty Mac. I bet noone is paying attention to all of the braggity brag about it. Second I will never pay 2800 for a computer. I don't care about the software, or lack of it as this article points out, that any computer comes with. I do not make DVD's. I do not edit my bands music. I do not need my computer to organize my photos or videos, I am capeable of it all on my own. Maybe you didn't notice because your mac doesn't automatically compute the cost for you,but if I bought the pc in the article, I could smash the crap out of it once a year for four years and go buy a new one. But I would have to carry my mac in the dainty apple embroidered handbag that matches my VW Beetle for four years. I would also have to hope that in those four years none of the programs that I actually use need updating as there is no way that after paying more for the laptop than I did for my first three cars combined, I could afford to purchase an Apple program. Third, people are stupid and that is why mac is gaining share. Some people buy computers and some are sold computers. And finally, is apple profitable because their computers are so much better or because their profit margin is so much better? Just saying.

I love a good old fashioned Tuan rant.
