I'm still interested in what people are calling the decade between 2000 and 2009 (see Not "The Aughts"?).

Apparently BBC World News America has a name for it ... The Noughties.

Nope, I don't think I can't get behind that.

Josh,

I've named the decade the Unies. Uni is a Latin prefix that means one. The numbers between 0 and 9 are all one-digit. Uni is also a prefix that means to come together to make one, like uniformity and university is a collection of colleges. (See www.theunies.com/blog)

The next decade is called the Decies. Deci is a Latin prefix that means ten. The numbers between 10 and 19 all have ten in common.

The other idea is figuring out what this decade represented. I believe this decade is about Unification. See long explanation at http://www.theunies.com/blog/2009/12/naming-decade-everyones-right.html#links

"Uni" also works for the unilateral decision George W. Bush made in attacking Iraq and Afghanistan in this decade.

Okay, I'll allow it.

Still better than the "Nauties".
